INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE & CONSULTANCY

January 2004 – September 2006,   Management Consultant - BOR-SAN AŞ

An active role in the erection of a steel panel radiator plant has been assumed.  The responsibilities included the following: plant layout, recruitment of middle level managers and engineers to run the plant, finding suppliers, putting the plant into operation and production ramp up, establishing a sales team, and initiating export sales.

Feb 2002 – Feb 2003,        Technical & Business Development Manager - ÖZDEMİR-HOBAS AŞ

Austrian and Turkish joint venture company producing high-tech centrifugally Cast Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CC-GRP) pipes for drinking water, waste water, sewage and irrigation systems. Responsibilities include sales and marketing, purchasing, preparation and submission of quotations to domestic and international customers, logistics.

Mar 1998 – Jan 2002,   Sales & Export Manager -  ERKUNT SANAYİ AŞ

In Turkey’s second largest iron casting and machining company which manufactures and supplies cast and machined quality parts to the automotive industry worldwide.

Responsibilities include:

  • Increasing sales, especially export sales.

  • Resolving commercial, logistics and quality issues with customers

  • Monitoring and measuring customer satisfaction by means of delivery (schedule adherence) and quality performance, technical cooperation and questionnaires to get the feed back for their expectations.

  • Replying request for quotations from existing and potential customers

  • Preparation and submission of weekly, monthly and annual statistical sales reports to top management

  • Investigating cost reduction opportunities

  • Preparation of legal documents for domestic and export sales

  • Arranging and monitoring logistics routes by means of road and sea freight transportation and measuring delivery performance to customers

  • Supervising and coordination of R&D projects

Customers are well known OEM’s in Western Europe, USA and Turkey in the fields of engine manufacturing, commercial vehicles and farm tractors.

Within the framework of R&D activities, more than 50 parts were successfully put into serial production during 1996-2002.

Mar 1996 – Feb 1998,   Quality Systems and Development Manager -  ERKUNT SANAYİ AŞ

Duties and responsibilities mainly included;

§         Establishment and management of the company’s quality system

§         Quality planning activities (APQP, PPAP, FMEA)

§         Product development scheduling, implementation and realization

§         Supervision of TPM projects

§         R&D projects

§         Operations Analysis and Time Studies in foundry and machining plants

ISO 9002 registration was achieved in August 1996. Then, QS 9000 studies were initiated. In July 1999, the company has become QS 9000 registered. More than 40 TPM projects were run with the support of an Italian consultant company. Time studies and operation analysis have been put into operation in 1997, since then it has become an important and integral part of the total system. 

Furthermore, initial reports were issued for the establishment of Environmental Management and, Occupational Health and Safety systems and corresponding actions have gradually taken to become compliant to the standards.
