Course Objectives This course aims to explain the emergence and development of the phenomenon of social policy by examining related institutions, actors and social power relations within a historical background. As a field of study, it deals with both theoretical and applied aspects of social policy together with different disciplines such as politics, economics, sociology and law. It also explains the emergence, development, limits, practices and problems of social policy in Turkey. Thus, it presents the manifestations of social policy both as a policy and as a field of study in the world and in Turkey in a comparative framework.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Explain the basic concepts, issues and approaches of social policy.
  • Explains the emergence, development, limits and problems of social policy in Turkey and in the world by establishing relations with disciplines such as economics and law.
  • Expresses the acquired knowledge and skills in an analytical framework, with a critical approach, orally and in writing, showing respect and tolerance for differences.
