Course Objectives Upon the preparation of first written source, describing the emergence of graphic arts, its importance, the stages it went through. By classifying the periods chronologically, expressing the concepts and terms relevant of graphic arts. In the formation and development of Graphics Art realizing the interaction people establish with their natural habitat, technology, religion, socio-economic structure and co-interaction amidst civilizations.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • The Students talk about the development stages in the graphic arts of culture and civilizations from the past till present day.
  • The Students state that technological advancements and material usage have provided new dimensions and opportunities to Graphic Arts
  • The Students express that socio-cultural and financial structures of societies have played role in the shaping of Graphic Arts
  • The Students narrate the Graphic Arts periods in Europe and America; invention of printing, developments and interactions in poster and book illustration art.
  • The Students differentiate, analyze and synthesize styles and cultural divergences in various products representing Graphic Arts.
