Course Objectives Understanding the fundamental notion and concept of Social Security Law, Scrutinizing rights of the employees and the obligations of employers arising from industrial accident and occupational disease in the light of the Social Insurance and Universal Health Insurance Act, Explaining the rights of the insured and the obligations of the employers in the light of the Social Insurance and Universal Health Insurance Act and giving information about the universal health insurance, private pension insurance and the regime without premium.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Explains and uses the concept of social security and the historical background.
  • Evaluates the application scope of the Social Insurance and Universal Health Insurance Act and uses it.
  • Explains the financing of the social security system.
  • Uses the types of short term and long term social insurance branches while resolving disputes.
  • Explains and exemplifies the concepts of industrial accident and occupational disease by studying the unemployment insurance.
  • Assesses and explains the general health insurance.
  • Explains the regime without premium.
  • Uses the jurisprudence of the Higher Appeal Courts while resolving disputes.
Course Content Institutions of social security law, pecuniary damages, damages for mental anguish, sanctions in public law, severance pay and unions.
