Professor Eryilmaz completed his Ph.D. at Ankara University in 2002. He is currently Vice President for Research at Atilim University. For three years, he was also Chair of the IE Department at Atilim University. He has been a visiting scholar at Manitoba University (Canada) and Durham University (UK). He is the present co-chair of the System Reliability Technical Committee of the European Safety and Reliability Association. He currently serves as a member of the Editorial Board of Reliability Engineering and System Safety and an Area Editor of the IISE Transactions-Quality & Reliability Engineering. His research interests include reliability engineering, applied probability, stochastic modeling, and renewable energy systems. He is the author of more than 200 publications. He was honored with TUBITAK Science Incentive Award due to his highly qualified studies on system reliability in the field of stochastic models/processes in operations research. He has recently published a book titled “Discrete-time stochastic models and applications for reliability engineering and statistical quality control” by CRC Press, Taylor and Francis Group.

Prof. Dr. Erdal Çelik graduated from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at Istanbul Technical University's Sakarya Engineering Faculty in 1993. He completed his master's degree in the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at Sakarya University in 1995, and earned his PhD between 1995 and 2000 at both Sakarya University and Florida State University. In 2001, Dr. Çelik was appointed as a lecturer in the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering at Dokuz Eylül University. In 2002, he conducted postdoctoral research at the International Superconductivity Research Laboratory in Nagoya, Japan, and was appointed as Assistant Professor at Dokuz Eylül University's Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering in the same year. He was promoted to Associate Professor in the same department in 2005, and worked as a short-term visiting researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Solid-State and Materials Research in 2006. In 2010, he was elected as a member of the TUBITAK Advisory Board, and in the same year, he was appointed as a Professor at Dokuz Eylül University's Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering. He was appointed to the TUBITAK Executive Board in 2012, and since 2015, he has been a member of the TUBITAK PRESTIGE Executive Board. Dr. Çelik was appointed as Acting Rector at Dokuz Eylül University in 2017, and in 2018, he was selected as a member of the Council of Higher Education Inspection Board. Since 2021, he has been serving as a researcher, BAP Coordinator, and Advisor to the Rector at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. Since 2022, he has also been serving as the Deputy General Manager (President) of Engineering, as well as the Director of R&D and Technology at TUSAŞ, and he continues to serve on numerous committees. Prof. Dr. Erdal Çelik has over 250 SCI-indexed publications, over 200 international conference papers, and 19 registered patents.
