Student Exhibition – Print Design Collection

A City Narrative: Ankara

Students of the Department of Textile and Fashion Design developed a print design collection under the theme “A City Narrative: Ankara.”

Throughout the design process, students analyzed the cultural, architectural, and sociological layers of Ankara. The city’s skyline, public spaces, everyday life practices, and historical traces were examined through visual research and conceptual exploration, leading to the development of original surface designs.

The created patterns were transferred onto fabric using various printing techniques and, in the final stage of the process, transformed into wearable products.

This collection demonstrates how the memory of a city can be reinterpreted through textile surfaces and how print design can function as a narrative tool in constructing visual identity.

The exhibited works represent a holistic design process that extends from conceptual research to material production.
