Instructor Dr. Ladan AMIR SAFAEI

Dear Visitors,

We are pleased to welcome you to the Department of Modern Languages (DML) at the School of Foreign Languages, where we are dedicated to fostering both the academic and professional growth of our students and preparing them for success in an interconnected world. Aligned with Atılım University's mission, we equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in a globalized environment.

At DML, we offer a diverse range of language courses tailored to meet the unique needs of our students. For those beyond the preparatory level, we provide Academic English courses designed to enhance advanced language skills and support departmental studies. For students in Turkish-medium departments, where instruction is primarily in Turkish, our Basic English courses focus on improving their English proficiency and supporting their personal development. Additionally, students can enrich their academic experience and personal growth by choosing from elective second languages, including Russian, French, German, Spanish and Chinese.

Our teaching philosophy is centered on fostering essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication. By adapting our teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students, we aim to create an engaging learning environment that prepares them for both academic success and real-world challenges. Recognizing the growing role of artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, and digital learning tools, we are continuously enhancing our curricula. By integrating modern, adaptive technologies, we offer students flexibility and personalized learning experiences. This approach ensures that students not only gain academic knowledge but also develop transferable life skills that will help them succeed in various professional and personal contexts.

Our highly qualified faculty are carefully selected to meet the high standards set by the Council of Higher Education. We emphasize continuous professional development to ensure our staff stay current with evolving student needs and trends in English Language Teaching (ELT), fostering an environment of collaboration and support.

Atılım University's School of Foreign Languages has been accredited by Pearson Assured for its excellence in organization, teaching, learning, and assessment since 2018. As part of the SFL, we remain committed to maintaining these high standards for years to come.

We warmly invite you to explore our website and discover the vibrant learning community we have cultivated here at DML.

Best regards,
Dr. Ladan AMIR SAFAEI
