Support Project for Hatay

As part of a community contribution project led by Lecturer Dr. Zeynep Rana Turgut of our School of Arts and Sciences, students Muazzez Tekinarslan, Tuna Ayçiçek, and Sena Özge Özer, third-year students in the Department of English Language and Literature, visited Hatay Nizamettin Özkan Primary School on October 21, 2024.

Prior to the visit, Turgut and her students prepared course materials that support the English curriculum of third-grade students and may be used throughout the academic year; and during the visit, sample lesson presentations were given to 59 primary school students in three different classrooms.

This community contribution project aimed to organize an activity that would contribute to the educational life of students in the earthquake zone. Positive feedback was received from the primary school students who participated in these lesson demonstrations in Hatay and from the teacher at the visited school, Emine Sare Öge.

 We sincerely thank Lecturer Dr. Zeynep Rana Turgut of our Department of English Language and Literature at the School of Arts and Sciences, and our students Muazzez Tekinarslan, Tuna Ayçiçek, and Sena Özge Özer, for their efforts and dedication in the execution of our Social Contribution Project.
