About the Graduate School
Atılım University Graduate School of Social Science started its education in the 1999-2000 academic year. 2001-2002 was the year when our students started to graduate from the enrolled programs. The number of our graduates was 13 by then and the total reached 3650 by 2016. Until 2017, 6 students graduated from our doctoral programs while the number of the alumni for our masters programs have been the following: Business Administration (in Turkish/English) 961; International Relations (in Turkish/English) 341; Applied Economics 12; English Culture and Literature 53; Finance 216; European Union 114; Tourism Management 11; Public Law 12; Health Care Management 1283; Public Administration and Political Science 273; Translation Studies 61; Business Administration Distance Education 287; Interior Architecture and Environmental Design 18; Local Governments 8.
The date that our graduate programs started their education would be also informative about our history. The names of certain programs have been updated in line with the requirements of the day. Therefore, the following names cover the updated ones. Those masters programs that were initiated before 2000 are Applied Economics and Business Administration. In addition to these programs, the masters programs Finance; International Relations; English Culture and Literature; European Union; Tourism Management, Banking (not active today); Public Law; and Public Administration and Political Science started to accept students between 2000-2005. Between 2006-2010, as well as the aforementioned programs, Health Care Management; Translation Studies; Business Administration Distance Education; Local Governments (not active today); Interior Architecture and Environmental Design masters programs, and the doctoral programs Political Economy; and English Culture and Literature were established. Between 2011-2018 four doctoral programs–Business Administration, Political Science and Public Administration, Private Law and Public Law -and five masters programs –International Trade and Logistics, Private Law, Public Relations and Adverting, Business Administration Distance Education (English), Public Finance- Tax - have been added to our graduate academic programs.
Our Graduate School continues to update its academic programs in line with the developments concerning human and science. It encourages interdisciplinary studies along with integrating information from different branches of science. Main motivation steering our activities has been contributing to humanity and human resources.
Today, from more than 20 nations, around 100 students are attending our masters and doctoral programs which offer courses in English medium in the Graduate School. Besides, one of our masters programs structured as distance education in MBA has been providing the opportunity for the managers and managerial candidates to develop their skills and knowledge in a way to break the restrictions put by time and space.
