ATHLETE SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

The athlete scholarship is a benefit offered to students who represent Atılım University in their respective sports branches, with academic success being the primary criterion. The sports branches eligible for the scholarship, its scope, and the conditions for application and continuation may be revised at the beginning of each academic year. Detailed information can be obtained from the Sports Activities Directorate.

Athlete Scholarship Guidelines:

1) The athlete scholarship is awarded to students who participate in competitions on behalf of Atılım University in sports branches in which the university is active.

2) Students wishing to benefit from this scholarship must fully complete the Online Application Form and upload all relevant information and documentation regarding their achievements and rankings in national and international competitions related to their branch. 

3) Eligibility for the athlete scholarship is based on the student’s academic success, active participation in the university team, and representation of Atılım University in their branch.
The eligible sports branches and students are determined based on the recommendation of the Sports Activities Directorate and the Directorate of Social Affairs and Sports, and are finalized with the approval of the Rectorate and the Board of Trustees.
The scholarship is valid for one academic year only and does not automatically carry over to subsequent years.

4) For the scholarship to continue into the following academic year:

  • Students in the English Preparatory Program must successfully complete the program in their first year and proceed to their academic department.

  • Undergraduate students must have a minimum year-end GPA of 2.00.

5) To continue receiving the athlete scholarship, students must:

  • Participate in all team activities throughout the academic year (training sessions, matches, competitions, meetings, etc.) unless a valid excuse is provided,

  • Comply with the Atılım University Athlete Code of Ethics.

Failure to meet these conditions may result in termination of the student’s involvement with the team, based on a decision by the University Sports Activities Ethics Committee.

6) In the event of termination as described in Article 5:

  • The scholarship is revoked based on the decision of the Ethics Committee.

  • The student is required to immediately pay the tuition fee amount that was not charged due to the scholarship.

  • Failure to make the payment will result in action being taken in accordance with the provisions of the Atılım University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations for students who have not completed registration.

Required Documents for Athlete Scholarship Application:

  • Athletic résumé and a list of achievements (prepared by the applicant),

  • Contact information,

  • Athlete information form obtained via the National Sports Information System,

  • Reference letter from the coach,

  • Reference letter from the sports club,

  • National Team Certificate (if available),

  • Supporting materials (photos, medals, trophies, press coverage, individual or team photos, etc.)

Application Results:

Applicants will be informed via phone two days prior to the deadline for submitting their YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam) preference lists about whether they have been granted the athlete scholarship.

 

Athlete Scholarship Tryout Days

As part of the 2025–2026 Academic Year, tryouts will be held on the dates and for the sports branches listed below for prospective students applying for the Athlete Scholarship at our university.

Candidates wishing to participate must be present at the Atılım University Sports Hall on the specified dates with their own sports equipment.

Tryouts will be conducted only for the branches listed below. After completing the online application, candidates must attend the tryout session for the branch they applied for.
Candidates who do not attend the tryout will not be considered for evaluation.

Applications for other sports branches not listed below will be evaluated based on the documents uploaded by the applicant to the system.
