HUM 211 - VISUAL COMMUNICATION AND BANNER DESIGN WORKSHOP

Within the scope of HUM 211 Gender and Women Rights, a course of KASAUM, a three-session workshop was organized in order to ensure that students approach to social issues and incidents from the perspective of gender and increase the level of knowledge and awareness of campus for the objective of being sensitive towards gender equality. In the workshop conducted under the counseling of Instructor Secil Toros, both corporate information was given and practice workshops were organized for visual communication and banner design.

Within the scope of the first session of the workshop in which students from different faculties and departments of our university participated, a seminar was organized for the objective of comprehending the power of visual communication in raising awareness in a society and drawing attention to social issues between 3.30pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday, 2 November 2016 at the Faculty of Law. Additionally, Photoshop Training for Banner Design was conducted in two sessions at LAB 155, the Faculty of Management between 10.00am - 11.00am and 1.30pm - 3.30pm on Wednesday, 9 November 2016. After the trainings, the banners designed by our students will be exhibited in the activities to be carried out for International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women beginning from 23 November 2016. In addition, these banners are planned to be used in the website and social media accounts of KASAUM for promotional purposes.

The purpose of the course HUM 211, which is designed by KASAUM as complementary workshops, seminars and trainings, is to ensure that our students recognize and cooperate with KASAUM and take active role in terms of gender equality.  Within this frame, students gain a vision in potential actions for the elimination of violence against women and improve themselves in presentation techniques, planning and making a team.
