Atılım University and TAI - Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. Sign Collaboration Protocol in Research and Education
Our Metal Forming Center of Excellence, the one and only metal forming center of excellence in Turkey, signed a collaboration protocol with TAI, on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
The ceremony took place at TAI Headquarters in Kahramankazan; and saw the participation of Atılım University President Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Üçtuğ, Vice President Prof. Dr. Serkan Eryılmaz, our Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Bilgin Kaftanoğlu from the Department of Production Engineering as one of the top Turkish scientists in the production industry, ARGEDA - Technology Transfer Office Director Prof. Dr. Yılser Devrim, and Metal Forming Center of Excellence Manager Erdinç Tezcan on behalf of Atılım University. The participants from TAI were TAI CEO Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil, R&D and Prototype Vice Manager Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Öztürk, and R&D Director Prof. Dr. Ahmet Pınarbaşı.
With the collaboration protocol in research and education signed between Atılım University Metal Forming Center of Excellence, and TAI - Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc.; the parties aim to keep each other up to date in terms of technological advancements, exchange experiences, facilitate the transfer of applicable technologies into the industry, and run joint R&D projects.
Signed by President Prof. Dr. Yıldırım Üçtuğ, Vice President Prof. Dr. Serkan Eryılmaz on behalf of Atılım University; Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil, and R&D and Prototype Vice Manager Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Öztürk on behalf of TAI, the protocol is intended for a collaboration in advanced metal forming methods (forging, extrusion, deep drawing, incremental forming, hot forming etc.), next-gen alloy design via computational materials engineering, and their use in aerospace, subjects of material characterization and production simulation, additive manufacturing, coatings and surface characterization.
