26.01.2026

The Central Anatolia Regional Meeting (“İABT”), bringing together student chapters of IEEE Türkiye in the Central Anatolia Region, was held on December 27, 2025, at Atılım University, hosted by the Atılım University IEEE Student Chapter.

Sponsored under UNIDES (University-Participatory Youth Projects Support Program) by the Ministry of Youth and Sports the event brought together engineering students and technology enthusiasts, facilitating regional collaboration and experience exchange.

In his inauguration speech, Atılım University President Prof. Dr. Serkan Eryılmaz highlighted the strategic importance the university places on engineering education and student projects. Prof. Dr. Eryılmaz emphasized that such events play a significant role in the professional development of students, adding that Atılım University always stands by young people creating technology.

Guest speaker Burak Akusta shared his industry experiences in his presentation, offering solutions to the challenges and success strategies encountered in engineering careers. His speech shed light on the career journeys of students.

In parallel sessions held as part of the event, the CS (Computer Society), WIE (Women in Engineering), and PES (Power & Energy Society) committees discussed technological developments, social awareness projects, and sectoral transformations relevant to their fields of study. In the session titled “Presidents' Session”, discussions were held on the administrative structures of student chapters in the region, sustainable project management models, and the competencies that are to be imparted to future engineering leaders.

The discussions held throughout the meeting highlighted the importance of a collaborative culture in how university students may contribute more effectively to the technological ecosystem, how innovative and entrepreneurial models may be developed, and how professional networks may be strengthened. These assessments addressed at the event which was sponsored by the UNIDES program formed a strategic roadmap for the future goals of student groups in the region.

We would like to thank Atılım University President Prof. Dr. Serkan Eryılmaz, and the university administration for their valuable support in hosting the Central Anatolia Regional Meeting; the Atılım University IEEE Student Chapter for successfully organizing the event; the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their UNIDES program and for sponsoring the meeting; guest speaker Burak Akusta; and participating university representatives having contributed to the process with their valuable insights.
