The RubberPhoenix Team, consisting of our Mechanical Engineering Department students, qualified for the finals in the Teknofest Environment and Energy Technologies category.

Our students applied to Teknofest with their senior design project, Rubber Fragmentation and Ultrasonic Devulcanization Device, successfully passed all selection stages, and became finalists at the festival held between 17–21 September 2025 at Istanbul Atatürk Airport.
The team — Elif Tan, Sudenir Özdemir, Buse Nur Özçelik, Şüra Günay, Mehmet Erdal Torunoğlu, and Emre Doğan — was mentored by Dr. Merih Şengönül. During the festival, they presented their device to visitors from various backgrounds, contributing to the advancement of environmental technologies in Türkiye.
In the competition, our students presented their project before the jury and achieved 12th place among 25 finalist teams in the Environmental Technologies category.
We sincerely congratulate our team and their mentor for this success and wish them continued achievements.
