IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING RESIDENCE PERMIT VALIDITY

Dear International Students,

Please be reminded that it is each international student’s responsibility to regularly check the validity of their residence permit in Türkiye and to ensure that their residence status remains valid throughout their stay.

Some of our students may have residence permits that have already expired or are approaching their expiration date. Therefore, please check your residence permit and its expiration date immediately, especially if you have a class at Esenboğa Airport in the near future.

If Your Residence Permit Has Already Expired

If you discover that your residence permit has expired, please take the following steps without delay:

  1. Contact the University’s International Student Office immediately and inform them that your residence permit has expired.
  2. Contact the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management (İl Göç İdaresi Müdürlüğü) or use the official channels of the Turkish migration authorities to determine what action is required in your specific situation.
  3. Do not delay taking action while waiting for further notification from the University. The expiration of a residence permit may have legal and administrative consequences.
  4. Do not assume that your previous residence permit, student status, or an ongoing application automatically extends your legal stay. Please confirm your current status with the competent authorities.
  5. Keep your passport, residence permit, student certificate, and other relevant immigration documents readily available when contacting the University or the authorities.

If Your Residence Permit Is Still Valid

If your residence permit has not yet expired, please:

  • Check its exact expiration date.
  • Make a note of the applicable renewal/extension deadlines.
  • Start the required procedures well in advance of the expiration date.
  • Regularly monitor your application and residence status.

Please note that the University can provide guidance and support within its scope, but students are personally responsible for complying with Turkish immigration and residence regulations and for completing the required procedures within the applicable deadlines.

If you are unsure about your current residence status, please do not wait—contact the University’s International Student Office and the relevant migration authorities as soon as possible.

Please check your residence permit status today and take immediate action if necessary.
