Social Contribution Policy
Education is one of the policies that play a role in the development of societies at local, national and global levels. Higher education institutions, on the other hand, represent the last and highest stage of the education system, with a vital role in the advancement of society.
With an awareness for the duty of higher education institutions in enlightening and advancing societies, Atılım University has adopted the mission “to create high-performance areas in the production and application of scientific knowledge within the understanding of social sensitivity and sustainability, and to train qualified individuals equipped at national and universal levels.” Based on this mission, our University constantly renews itself; bringing forth good practice examples in many areas such as education, social, cultural, economic etc. in order to benefit the society.
These targets constitute the core values of Atılım University such as “inquisitiveness, scientificity, universality, trust and reliability, respect for people and the environment, a focus on quality, corporate sense of belong, corporateness, respect for professional ethics, a focus on shareholders, productivity, innovativity, and creativity”. In parallel with these core values, our quality policy has been determined as “ensuring the satisfaction of our stakeholders with the principle of continuous development and total quality management approach in all our activities”, with the awareness that our most important stakeholder is the society itself.
Prepared with a focus on our mission, core values and quality policy, our social contribution policy aims to achieve the widest possible social benefit in every academic and administrative process executed at the university. Based on this goal, our social contribution policy adopts the principle of continuing research and production efforts for the development of the society; creating permanent solutions to social problems and disseminating them. Social contribution policy is observed in academic studies, projects, centers, student groups, social responsibility activities, cultural events, collaborations with stakeholders and all other activities at the university.
Our social contribution policy is shaped with the understanding of striving to act in harmony with the changing and developing dynamic structure of the society, especially in ecology, health, rights awareness, social responsibility, technological development and entrepreneurship; and Atılım University plays an active role in the development process.
We allocate ever-increasing resources to centers, projects, academic studies, social responsibility activities, and so forth in order to fulfill the adopted social contribution policy in the best possible way; working to continuously improve performance by following up the activities executed with formations such as strategic plan, performance management system, Directorate of Corporate Development and Planning, and the quality commission.

The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals provide a shared blueprint for prosperity and peace on the basis of the planet and people into the current and the future for all by 2030. Atılım University carries on aligning the strategic priorities of the university to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through the alignment with the vision and the mission of the university in coherence with the values and ethics in higher education.
Atılım University has been aligning and embedding sustainable development goals into the university’s strategies, policies, internal reports, and values. The strategic priorities of the university to the sustainable development goals have benchmarked our strategic activities to combine and consolidate with common goals. Atılım University is committed to being a leading advocate and driving force for excellence in higher education to achieve sustainable development goals.
Atılım University acknowledges and contributes that the university plays an efficient and effective role in addressing global challenges and achieving sustainable development goals through quality education, research projects, scientific conferences, nature-oriented technology, implementations for the reduction in starvation and health issues, social actions, supportive equality programs, economic supports and a wide range of prominent activities locally, regionally and internationally with other stakeholders and partners.
Atılım University aspires to increase awareness regarding sustainable development goals, expand its research and curriculum to include analyses and cooperate with authorities and institutions to fulfil the requirements of the sustainable development goals. In this regard, Atılım University dedicates the advancement of teaching as the key element of the mission and vision in terms of both research and education is a core component of the sustainable development goals and is an indispensable tool for impacting on other sustainable development goals. Atılım University commits to accessible education and research to empower students, academics and administrators with the skills and knowledge to understand and address sustainable development goals.
Atılım University creates progressing research with the leadership and capability of the university in cooperation with public engagement activities that advance to promote sustainable development goals. Atılım University understands sustainability opportunities and challenges with the practices of sustainable management approach as one of the key elements for accomplishments.
Atılım University has been adding a new proactive dimension of collaboration and engagement approach beyond campus boundaries and has focused on strengthening the sustainability of development goals to explore opportunities to further connect the university campus with the globe to create a vibrant ecosystem in higher education.
