Student Conference Presentation at IMEIT 2025
27.04.2026
We are pleased to announce that our undergraduate student Sezin Selamoğlu presented a research paper at the International Conference on Advanced Materials and Additive Manufacturing (IMEIT 2025), held at Sivas University of Science and Technology. The study, co-authored with Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Fallah, is titled “Experimental Characterization of Thermally Induced Shape Memory Behavior of Fused Deposition Modeling Direct 4D-Printed PLA.” The work focuses on the direct 4D printing of PLA and investigates its thermally induced self-bending behavior, highlighting its potential for smart and adaptive engineering applications.
The presented research demonstrates how printing parameters such as layer thickness and printing speed can be used to precisely control shape transformation in 4D-printed structures. The findings contribute to the growing field of smart materials and additive manufacturing by providing design insights for programmable structures with applications in soft robotics, adaptive devices, and smart systems. This achievement reflects the active involvement of undergraduate students in research activities within the department and highlights ongoing efforts to integrate advanced manufacturing concepts into student-led research projects.
