The seminar "Autonomous Driving on Fast Race Tracks," organized by the Department of Automotive Engineering, was held on 24 September 2026 at the School of Engineering. The speaker was Mustafa Alp, Manager of Alp Autonomy. The seminar covered the technologies used in autonomous race cars, the development of these vehicles, and the racing experience of Team Kinetiz.

Team Kinetiz is a collaboration between the AutoMan Lab of Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore), the UAE-based technology company K2 and Alp Autonomy. Since 2025, Alp Autonomy has been working on the team's autonomous driving software, covering localization, perception, prediction, planning and vehicle control. On 5 September 2026, the team won the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL) race at Italy's Imola Circuit. In this event, the first multi-car autonomous race held in Europe, all teams used the same EAV-25 car, so performance differences were determined by software. Starting fourth in the 12-lap race against four teams from Germany and Italy, Team Kinetiz finished approximately 11 seconds ahead of second-placed Constructor Racing.
