Turkey Innovation Week 2013

“Turkey Innovation Week” event was held on November 28-30, 2013 at Istanbul Congress Center by Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM). Prof. Hasan Akay (PhD), Selma Kandemir from ARGEDA (Atılım University Research, Development, Application, Training and Consultancy Projects) Coordinatorship and Research Assistant Emre Güner from the Department of Mechatronics Engineering represented our university.

The event, the second of which was organized last year, was held under the auspices of the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and with the contributions of the Ministry of Economy this year. Representatives from state institutions and organizations, non-governmental organizations, businessmen, universities and experts on Research and Development (R&D) and innovation came together in the same platform. The event composed of a wide range conferences and panels where 20 leading people in innovation and of workshops and trainings on innovation, entrepreneurship andbusiness world attracted great attention. In the event, various projects having taken part in r&d and design competitions were displayed and there were also many different innovatory organizations to introduce their services.

The stand of Atılım University which gave information about the projects being carried out at our university was highly appreciated by academicians, researchers, industrialists, press organizations, associations and students. The related units were informed about cooperation offers, recommendations and appreciations emerging on this occasion.

Our university was invited to “Turkey Innovation Week” with two projects awarded in students and academicians branches in the 2nd R&D Project Market event named“Metallic Ideas”.

2. Third Prize in Academicians Branch – Prof. Bilgin Kaftanoğlu (PhD)

The Subject of the Project:Development of the Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) Coating Process for Cutting Tools

 

The Electromagnetic Bulging Project represented successfully by our students Mert Nazmi Serin, Cenk Yıldız and Selim Annak was the project which attracted the greatest attention in the hall.

Turkey Innovation Week held under the auspices of the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and with the contributions of the Ministry of Economy brought international and professional industrialists, academicians and undergraduate and graduate students from all over the world in İstanbul and highlighted the importance of R&D in Turkish economy and exportation.
