“Alternative Photoprint” Workshop
20.07.2016

PURPOSE

Invention of photograph lets us seize the moment, and various methods and devices have been developed to keep the moment. Today physical existence of photographs is out of circulation after the proliferation of digital devices developed to create and keep photographs. Photographs, stored in the memory card of mobile phones, may be the first data to give up in case of a need for space. If photographs are lucky, they are copied to personal computers or clouds and forgotten and lost there.

These conditions have paved the way for the loss of the object which is first ontological form of the photograph. Alternative photoprint workshop aims to experience the object of photograph again. A contemporary photograph production method enriched with the roots of photography will be explained along with the combination of historical photographic techniques and current digital methods. Cyanotype printing will be applied on a paper by using inkjet negatives to be formed with digital images.
