Dear Students,

We are eagerly waiting for your applications for the 2013-2014 Academic Year Undergraduate Research Projects (LAP) supported by our university. According to the quotas of Announced LAP Projects and to your academic success, you can apply either as a Research Scholar or as a Volunteer Student until November 26, 2013.

In the 2013-2014 Academic Year, it is expected that 63 research scholars and 39 volunteer students from different departments will take part in 10 LAP Projects under the control of 21 Supervisors/Co-supervisor.

If you analyze the Announced LAP projects beforehand and determine the projects whose conditions are the most suitable for you, you will have a better chance of being selected to the project teams. Teams are determined by Supervisors and Co-supervisors according to the applications. The academic studies of these projects will start in November 2013 (Fall Term) and end in June 2014 (Spring Term).

You can reach the LAP Application System through ARGEDA webpage, Student Information System (SIS) or even clicking http://lap.atilim.edu.tr/. You shall enter your SIS usernames and passwords into the system.

During the applications, you can consult the ARGEDA Coordinatorship.

Atılım University Undergraduate Research Projects (LAP) Programmes

The goal of the Undergraduate Research Projects (LAP) is to train undergraduate students in such a way that they would become creative adults who love carrying out researches.

In this LAP Programme, there are three different categories: Course Projects, Contest Projects and Announced Projects.  Every single students who achieves the programme successfully is awarded a certificate of completion.

In the LAP Project Festival held at the end of the academic year the projects are presented with academic posters. After the evaluation of the jury committees in Social Sciences and Natural & Applied Sciences, the students whose posters rank first, second and third will be awarded a certificate of excellence.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE ANNOUNCED LAP PROJECTS

  • Projects teams are formed by the supervisors of the projects by means of making a selection among the students who have applied for being a Research Scholar.
  • Students can also apply to the projects where quotas are established as Volunteer Students.
  • The print-outs taken from the Candidate Application System approved shall be approved by the Heads of Departments.
  • Sophomore, junior and senior students can study as Research Scholars in these projects. (Their GPA shall not be less than 2.50)
  • Students of the English Preparatory School and freshmen can apply for these projects as Volunteer Students. (GPA is not sought.)
  • You can apply for more than one project, but you are placed only in one of them as a Research Scholar or Volunteer Student.
  • At the end of each term (Fall Term and Spring Term) these Research Students are paid 500 TL and they are expected to study at least 100 hours during the academic year.
  • Students shall meet the Project Supervisors, analyze the required qualifications for the projects, check the quotas of the projects and determine advisors before their applications.

 

THE STEPS OF APPLICATION FOR THE ANNOUNCED LAP PROJECTS

1. Analyze the projects on the ARGEDA webpage and make your choice (You can apply according to Quotas, Required Qualifications and Application Conditions)

2. Login the system (through ARGEDA webpage, SIS main page or http://lap.atilim.edu.tr/) with your SIS usernames and passwords.

3. Choose the code of the project (You can continue if your GPA and class are suitable).

4. Check the information about the project (Continue if the project information is correct, if the information provided is not correct then choose the right project for you).

5. Fill in the other parts of the Application Form.

6. Confirm the application.

7. Take print-outs. (2 copies)

8. Have your advisors sign your application form.

9. Deliver your application form to the related Project Advisor.

10. Your project will be evaluated by the Project Advisor.

11. The project teams will be announced.
