The 20th International Conference on Mechatronics and Machine Vision in Practice (M2ViP 2013)

18/09/2013 - 20/09/2013

Mechatronics has been accepted as the blend of mechanics, electronics and computer control into an integrated design. It forms the basis of an ever growing list of products and techniques of great technical and commercial value. Mechatronic design can result in products which are much simpler than their intricate and costly predecessors and can make commonplace the miracles of yesterday. Much valueadded comes from the skilful use of sensors and embedded machine intelligence. Machine-vision has emerged from the laboratory among other sophisticated sensors to find real applications in areas which include inspection, fault detection, vehicle guidance and robot control. Low-cost cameras have been developed for multimedia applications, but with their ease of interfacing they offer a whole new field of low-cost vision-based control. Following the success of its nineteen predecessors,
M2ViP2013 is organized by Robot Technologies Research Center (RoTAM) of Atılım University, Turkey. M2ViP will provide a dynamic forum for  international experts and researchers to present and review advances in mechatronics and machine vision which have culminated in practical  applications, or which promise practical implementation in the very near future.

Conference Venue
The venue for M2 ViP2013 is Atılım University, Ankara, Turkey. Ankara is the capital city of Turkey and the second largest city in the country after Istanbul. It is located at the heart of both Turkey and Central Anatolia. The city is an important commercial and industrial city, and it also houses the Turkish government, and all foreign embassies. There are many historical places such as Anıtkabir (mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk), Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, MTA Museum of Natural History, Ethnography Museum, Ankara Citadel, Roman Theatre, Temple of Augustus and Roman Bath.
Also, in the vicinity are other natural and historical points of interest that the visitors can enjoy, such as Cappadocia (a famous region of exceptional natural wonders, in particular characterized by fairy chimneys and a unique historical and cultural heritage) and Gordium (the capital city of ancient
Phrygia). Atılım University is located on 250 acres of land in Incek one of the most recent and fastest developing residential areas of Ankara, 20 kms from the city centre. The campus contains faculty buildings, laboratories, conference halls, basketball and volleyball fields, a gymnasium, tennis courts, a condition hall, a swimming pool, recreation areas where outdoor activities are also carried out, cafeterias and restaurants.

Exhibition and Sponsorship
Space will be provided to companies working in the field of mechatronics, robotics and machine vision. Interested companies should apply to the Organizing Committee. There will be special sessions for the sponsoring companies and institutions to introduce themselves and their activities.
