Atılım University Students Successfully Represent the University at the "Dialogue Through Weaving" Exhibition
25.06.2026

The launch event of the collaborative project between the Department of Textile and Fashion Design at Atılım University and Kıvanç Textile Design Center was held on 24 June 2026 at the Adana Industry Museum.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Lecturer Esra Bekiroğlu, our students Bengisu Akdere, Betül Akcan, Ecemsu Özturgut, and Türkan Babat developed woven textile designs inspired by the stained-glass windows of Cologne Cathedral. These designs were subsequently woven into fabrics by Kıvanç Textile. Under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Egemen Nadaşbaş and Dr. Lecturer Sena Sürmeli Aydeniz, the students transformed these woven fabrics into three-dimensional garment forms, which were exhibited as part of the project.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Kıvanç Textile family for including our department among the project partners, as well as to our students and faculty members who contributed to this valuable collaboration. We also extend our appreciation to the esteemed students and academics of Başkent University, Çukurova University, Mersin University, and Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, with whom we had the pleasure of creating and producing together.

Finally, we would like to express our sincere thanks and respect to our Dean, Prof. Dr. Özgen Osman Demirbaş, who honored us with his presence at the launch event and accompanied our department on this memorable journey despite the long distance.
