Course Objectives In the course, information is given about the intellectual origins and historical developments of the decisive phenomena in terms of modern political dynamics such as the inviolability of fundamental rights and freedoms, obedience to the state authority and the limits of this obedience, the ideal form of relations between the individual and the community, civil society, and public interest. In this way, it is aimed that students have theoretical knowledge about the foundations of modern political phenomena. In addition, it is aimed that students will be able to develop a knowledge-based, critical and analytical perspective on current political phenomena and issues.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Learns how political values that are accepted as norm/normal today emerge
  • Knows different approaches to the most basic concepts of political-social life such as human nature, freedom, equality, justice and ethics.
Course Content Sophists; Ancient Greece; Roman thought; Christian thought; Islamical political thought.
