Course Objectives To teach students basic pathophysiological mechanisms and to provide them with the ability to understand the cause-effect relationship between organ and system functions in cases of disease.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • To be able to define normal cell, organ and system function To be able to explain the physiopathological mechanisms that occur in cell, organ and system functions To understand the physiopathology of the symptoms and findings that occur in the case of disease To be able to analyze the physiopathology of the symptoms and findings that occur in the case of disease To be able to diagnose the symptoms and findings that occur in the case of disease and to evaluate the physiopathological mechanisms related to laboratory results
Course Content Introduction to physiopathology (cell structure, abnormalities in intracellular signal transmission, necrotic and apoptotic cell death), tumor development and its effects, hyperthermia, hypothermia and frostbite, nutritional disorders and obesity, allergies, hemostasis, physiopathology of cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, nervous, immune, female and male reproductive systems disorders.
