Huge Investment in Civil Aviation by Atilim University

Atilim Hangar which will provide important contributions to civil aviation training at Atilim University has been launched.

Atilim Hangar is the first and only aircraft hangar of a university based in Ankara. It is an important investment for aviation sector in terms of providing repair-maintenance services to the aircrafts of all airline companies and applied training support to all students of Civil Aviation Higher School. Students of Civil Aviation Higher School will utilize Atilim Hangar as an aircraft laboratory. Koksal Liman, Chairperson of TUSAS Engine Industries (TEI), Prof. Mahmut Aksit, General Manager of TEI and representatives of ASELSAN and Civil Aviation sector and a large number of guests participated in the ceremony. The program also included the Signing Ceremony of Cessna 337 Aircraft Use Policy. Cessna 337 is regarded as a great opportunity for our students in terms of recognizing the aircraft, getting information about repair-maintenance services and piloting the aircraft. Delivering a speech at the opening ceremony as the president of Atilim University, Prof. Yildirim Uctug indicated that “Atilim University, which has 140 laboratories for applied training, launched a brand new laboratory with the opening of the hangar. The hangar is both significant in terms of being the first and only project conducted by a university in Ankara and quite important as it complies with ‘applied training’ principle of Atilim University”.
The speakers emphasized the importance of training and R&D investments of Atilim University for Turkey and highlighted the fact that these investments set quite valuable examples for university-industry cooperation.
