Zeynep Ceren Devrim, one of our students at the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering, and the Chairperson of the Atılım University Energy and Climate Change Club participated in the  Climate Ambassadors Training Camp in Konya, organized within the scope of the Climate Ambassadors Program executed by the Directorate of Climate Change under the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye.

Taking place between September 29 - October 2 under a collaboration by UNICEF Türkiye, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, and the Metropolitan Municipality of Konya; the camp brought together young people from all over the country where they trained on in various topics such as combatting climate change, sustainable development, and environmental awareness. Participants seized the opportunity to acquire skills to help them contribute to national and international actions regarding climate change.

The sessions addressed topics such as the scientific basis of climate change, green financing, carbon management, adaptation policies, global climate negotiations, and youth participation in decision-making processes. These sessions increased the knowledge and awareness levels of the young participants regarding climate policies, while preparing them to take on more active roles in future environmentally-friendly projects.

At Atılım University, we continue to support our students who contribute to the development of environmental awareness in line with our sustainability vision. Our student Zeynep Ceren Devrim, Climate Ambassador, will continue to strengthen the voices of young people in the climate change actions through environmentally focused studies, and awareness-raising activities within the Energy and Climate Change Club at our university.
