29.12.2025

A second technical visit to BMC Power Motor and Control Technologies Inc. Ankara Campus was organized on December 29, 2025, by the Department of Automotive Engineering at Atılım University within the scope of the AE426 Armored Vehicles course. The visit aimed to enhance students’ technical and professional development and began with a briefing on safety regulations and campus rules provided by company officials.

Following the briefing, detailed information was presented on BMC POWER’s research and development, manufacturing, and quality control activities. Authorized engineers delivered presentations on the development processes of power units and powertrain systems, production infrastructure, and their importance in the defense and automotive industries.

In the first part of the visit, the complete manufacturing processes of UTKU and BATU power groups, as well as other power units and drivetrain components, were examined in detail. Students observed quality control procedures, measurement and tolerance testing, and functional verification processes carried out during component assembly. They gained valuable insights into the significance of production precision and quality standards in the defense industry.

In the second part, the production and assembly processes of military vehicles were observed on site. Technical information was provided on welding methods, integration of power units into vehicles, mechanical and electrical connections, and final inspection procedures. Engineers working in the production area responded to students’ questions and shared their professional experiences.

Throughout the visit, emphasis was placed on the strategic importance of modern manufacturing technologies, quality assurance systems, and system integration processes in the defense and automotive sectors. Students had the opportunity to observe theoretical concepts in real production environments while also gaining firsthand knowledge about industry expectations and career opportunities.

This second technical visit to the BMC POWER Ankara Campus made a significant contribution to students’ professional development by enhancing their technical awareness, practical experience, and industry perspective.
