Chairperson's Message

Asst. Prof. Dr. Osman Barkın GÜRCAN
Dear students,
Our four-year Audiology Undergraduate Programme aims to train students for specialised roles in hearing and balance science, such as clinical, experimental, industrial and rehabilitation audiology.
Our aim is to provide the scientific and academic environment necessary to train audiologists who have up-to-date, international knowledge of the basic fields of audiology; who can design and conduct scientific research; who can apply scientific knowledge to clinical and fieldwork settings without compromising professional ethical principles; and who have high self-awareness, self-esteem, communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
In our department, undergraduate education is based on the principles of a general university education. Courses are delivered both theoretically and practically. Audiology is one of the fields in which evidence-based science is applied. For this reason, our programme aims to educate individuals with a solid research infrastructure who can follow scientific publications and apply them to practical areas, while also solving problems encountered in practice by referencing similar examples in the literature.
