Dear Students of Atılım University Vocational School of Health Services,

The serpent staff, the symbol of medicine and pharmacy today, is an image carried and always supported by Asclepius, the god of health, in Greek mythology.  Imhotep, who lived in ancient Egypt, developed treatments for many diseases and is known as the first doctor in history. Hippocrates, who lived two thousand years later and is considered the father of medicine today, and Avicenna, recognized by the Western world as the “Grand Master”, followed in the footsteps of the healers before them. The only thing that remains constant is the need for a large support group in health services. In our age, health services continue to progress as a whole.

Established with the aim to become a university to shed light on the future by blending quality education with science, technology and research; Atılım University has been taking determined steps to achieve this goal and take it further for over twenty-one years. Our goal is to provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills in your university life, one of the key steps of becoming independent individuals. Atılım University Vocational School of Health Services opened its doors to students for the first time with a total of five programs in Operating Room Services, Anesthesia, Physiotherapy, First and Emergency Aid and Medical Laboratory Techniques in the Academic Year of 2021-2022. Here, theoretical education and practical skill training are provided by the expert academic staff of our university, at well-equipped laboratories and simulation centers, for four semesters.

At the Vocational School, as a result of the cooperation with the health service sector, qualified researchers who have the professional competence that our country needs, who have acquired the ability to renew themselves throughout their lives, who are beneficial to society, who are public interest oriented and sought after as exemplary health personnel are trained.

I wish that you too become individuals who have internalized Atatürk's principles and national values, who know their responsibilities, who are aware that health services are a whole, who do not compromise on honesty and integrity while serving humanity, and who are sensitive and beneficial to society.
