• Master’s students who pass their courses and minimum GPA limit and doctoral students who pass thesis proposal exam begin thesis writing process.
  • A thesis advisor is appointed by the Executive Committee to thesis master’s students in the second semester and doctoral students in the third semester.
  • In the cases where students intend to change their advisor appointed by the Graduate School, they are required to fill out (FORM B-1) and submit the same to relevant department.
  • For each thesis semester, students are required to register in the section of their thesis advisor.
  • Students determine the title of their thesis in the third semester submit a filled-out FORM B-2 stating the approval of their advisors (master’s students only).
  • After deciding with their advisor that thesis study is ready for defense, students prepare a spiral copy of the thesis and submit it to the Graduate School along with FORM B-3 approved by the advisor. Turnitin report obtained by the advisor must be added in the last page of the spiral copy. Thesis advisor writes “Uygundur” (Approved) on and signs the cover page. Thesis must be submitted minimum 30 days before the last day of thesis defense specified in the academic calendar.
  • Following the assignment of jury members, students deliver a spiral copy of their thesis to each jury member and substitute and collects their signatures to the FORM B-4.
  • Students who pass thesis defense exam make necessary revisions and corrections as recommended by the jury and send updated version to their advisor through e-mail. Advisors send theses to ugur.kaplan@atilim.edu.tr with a message confirming that necessary changes have been made by the student.
  • Students prepare 3 copies of the Approval page (a sample of which is provided in the Thesis Writing Directive) to be signed by jury members at the time of defense.
  • Thesis information is entered into the Thesis Center of Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
  • By consulting with Res. Asst. Uğur Kaplan, students must ensure that their thesis study complies with thesis writing directive.
  • Students are recommended to prepare hardcover copy of thesis and CDs only after the completion of the last stage.

 

During the final submission of the thesis (not later than one month after thesis defense):

  • Pages until the introduction must be single sided while the rest double-sided beginning from the introduction.
  • 3 clothbound copies of thesis must be prepared in accordance with the instructions and qualifications specified Thesis Writing Directive.
  • Approval and Ethical Declaration pages must be signed before adding the thesis. These pages must be completed and left unsigned in the PDF copy for CDs.
  • Thesis prepared in PDF format and named with the reference number obtained from the Thesis Center of YÖK must be copied in 3 CDs which will only contain the thesis file.
  • CDs must be labeled including front cover information of the thesis.
  • Hard plastic covers are not suitable for CDs; therefore, students must use sticky CD covers to adhere it to the cover of thesis.
  • 5 Thesis Data Entrance Forms are submitted to research assistant along with 3 copies of thesis and CDs.
  • In the final stage, the research assistant uploads the thesis to Thesis Center of YÖK and graduation procedures are initiated.
