About the School
School of Health Sciences
The School of Health Sciences offers undergraduate degree education in three fields that shape the future of health care: Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, and Nursing. In addition, our School shall offer undergraduate degree education under the Departments of Child Development and Audiology shortly. As a distinguished university in Turkey, Atılım University School of Health Sciences offers education completely in English, and this is the most important reason that we stand out as the first and the only University in Ankara. . The Department of Nursing among our departments is a professional field to hold free movement rights as one of the 6 distinguished professions.
With the curriculum of our three departments following the Core Education Programs of the Turkish Council of Higher Education, the European Credit Transfer System and the Bologna criteria, we contribute to the personal and the professional developments of our students. In addition, our School aims to contribute to the talent discovery and self-discovery process of our students with a wide array of elective courses from various Schools at our University, in addition to leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation courses as electives under our own School. With the mutual contracts and collaboration programs with distinguished universities in the USA and Europe, our school offers exchange programs allowing for the movement of students and faculty members.
Since our program covers theory and practice, we offer our students the opportunity to perform their internship studies free of charge at Ankara Medicana International Hospital, all health care institutions under the Ministry of Health, or the newly-founded Healthy Life Practice and Research Center at Atılım University.
To carry our qualified and high-standard education implemented at our School at an undergraduate level to a graduate level, we have initiated thesis master degree programs of Nursing for Gynecology and Obstetrics, and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. The process to initiate doctorate degree programs is still underway.
With our academic staff, strong and well-respected at national and international platforms, we aim to help our students develop cognitive and psycho-motor skills by prioritizing student satisfaction, and relying on technological methods in education.
To become a leading educational body which creates a cooperation model in practice and theory, takes active roles in developing health services policies, and is known in research, education and practices at an international level.
To train modern, creative, researcher professionals who contribute to science and take scientific thought and practices, ethical and moral behaviors as a principle by offering high quality undergraduate education and letting them realize their own potential.
