Course Objectives This course will examine discussions surrounding the concept of gender, addressing the intersections of this concept with other concepts such as race/ethnicity, nation, and the body, while incorporating contemporary practices. The KAM 523 course aims to develop students’ critical thinking skills by exposing them to debates in the field of gender studies.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • 1) They are well-versed in the fundamental theoretical debates in the field of gender studies.
  • 2) They can analyze the relationship between the concept of gender and concepts such as race/ethnicity, class, nationality, and body.
Course Content The social origins of the concept of gender; the concepts of sex and gender.
