Course Objectives The course on Administrative Law reflects the extent to which the concepts of “Administration,” “Administrative Science,” and “Governance”which have gained significance since the 20th century are evident in the practical realm of our state’s history, both globally and within the Ottoman Empire. In this context, the course aims to understand the establishment, development, and current state of “Administrative Law,” as well as the practical implications of this state for public administration. The course focuses on the Turkish Public Administration system, which was established in line with the Continental European tradition, and its mutual influence with the “Anglo-Saxon” public administration, the role of “Globalization” and “the effects of globalization on our social, economic, and legal lives” in practice, the impacts on institutions and organizations influenced by or unaffected by this trend, and the innovations introduced into our administrative life by the “Presidential Government System” resulting from the latest constitutional amendment -these constitute the objectives of this course.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • As stated in the course objectives, students who take and successfully complete this course will gain knowledge of Turkish public administration, which will benefit them in the public or private sector organizations where they will work or in the private businesses they may establish.
  • Based on our observations, reading habits among large groups of students are below average. In particular, reading, comprehension, and most importantly the ability to explain what one has understood to others are considered areas that need improvement.
  • Encouraging class participation and presentation assignments play a significant role in developing public speaking skills. By the end of the course, every student will be able to answer questions posed to them with confidence, to the best of their knowledge.
Course Content The fundamental concepts and principles of administrative law.
