Course Objectives
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Students having completed this lesson with success, will have historical and cultural learning abilities relating to the core knowledge repertoire in their own field with this lifelong learning consciousness. In class, the architecture feature and time unlimited principles of the conception are based on the synthesis and analysis skill developments by ensuring learning and evaluation through a plumbing, comprehensive, awakening at architecture field, critical point of view over the changing value judgments as well as the social-economic-political structure-technologic opportunities of societies in all phases of a civilization starting from Paleolithic era. Evaluate the structure of architecture history as well as its relevant concepts with presentation through an abstract, theoretical method, the developments all over the world and Turkey, architectural trends arising as result of the refection of social structure changes on the architecture and the developments of relevant periods presented over a chronology through the vestigial monuments offered by architecture representatives.
Course Content Appraisal of architectural history in terms of the social, political, and cultural contexts of the architectural development in the world and in Turkey; discussions of architectural history and theories in relation with architectural historiography.
