Course Objectives To develop skills to solve problems by protecting them and gaining knowledge about the scope, protection, promotion, and management of cultural heritage.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Theoretical knowledge on the protection and management of cultural heritage, a critical view of practices, and the ability to make comparative assessments on the relationship between cultural heritage and the cultural economy.
Course Content Research, preservation, promotion and management of the sources within the scope of cultural heritage; international and national institutions, laws, and resolutions; theoretical and methodical approaches related to the definition and management of cultural heritage; relation between cultural heritage and culture economy-industry (historic sites and ruins, museums, re-functionalization - with examples from Turkey and abroad).
