Course Objectives The aim of this course is to teach radiation sources, interactions of different types of radiation with matter and detection methods, and to provide a general introduction to the biological effects of radiation and radiation physics.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • At the end of this lesson, students will: -Learn the physical properties of radiation and radioactive substances.
Course Content Radiation types, ionization, photoelectric event, acquisition and parameters of X-rays, interaction of X-rays with matter, energy levels and atomic spectra, stable nuclei, radioactive radiation, natural radioactivity, application areas of nuclear physics, basic principles of radiological imaging.
