Course Objectives To teach the design and construction of dam types
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • To be able to understand the hydraulic part for design
  • To be able to understand the differences between dam types
  • To be able to design the various of dams
  • To be able to understand the materials' types on the design of dams
  • To be able to calculate the stability of dams
Course Content Introduction to soil and rock type, earth-fill dams, seepage through dams, rock-fill dams, RCC, arch dams, membrane-faced dams, design of grout curtain, spillways, diversion tunnels and slope stability of dams.
