Dr. Şefik 'Performance Analysis Of Hybrid Electrıc Vehicle With Electric Double Layer Capacitor Under Short Circuit Fault ' konulu bir konuşma yapmıştır. Konuşmayı öğretim elemanlarımız ve öğrencilerimiz izlemişlerdir. Dr. Şefik ayrıca bölümümüz öğretim elemanları ile toplantılar yapmış ve otomotiv mühendisliği laboratuvarlarımızı gezmiştir. PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE WITH ELECTRIC DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITOR UNDER SHORT CIRCUIT FAULT

Abstract. Energy management system (EMS) studies are one of the most popular issues in (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) HEV technology and research. However, the fault and failure analysis of HEV is also important regarding to safety and reliability. Because there occurs various types of faults in several vital parts of HEV drive-trains which can have impact on providing a healthy operation and consequently result in a low performance or malfunction in whole system. There are many studies related to vehicle technology regarding the diagnosis and fault detection in HEVs. Nevertheless, only a few of them concern short circuit fault. In this paper, model analysis of HEV under the short circuit fault symptoms is presented to get insight of the fault effect on the HEV performance. Accordingly, high impedance short circuit fault is simulated occurring at DC electric system. Moreover, Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC)-battery power source is proposed in order to suppress short circuit fault effect in the system and to increase the HEV performance since EDLC behaves like a rapid charging/discharging buffer. We utilize a parallel-series type HEV simulation model which is developed in Matlab/Simulink environment including a short circuit fault case. Developed model of EDLC-battery pack hybrid power source is tested in this HEV simulation model and the impact of EDLC on short circuit fault and the whole system performance is analyzed.
About the Speaker. Dr. Ibrahim Sefik graduated from Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Ege University with Honor Degree in 2007, then he joined GSST of Kumamoto University in Japan for his MSc and PhD studies supported my MEXT where he carried out his researches mainly on electrical/hybrid and autonomous vehicles until the end of 2012. After finishing his PhD, he was invited to Vehicle Technology Lab placed under the Energy Institute of Tubitak MAM for feasibility study and research of National Electric Vehicle project which is supported by the Government of Turkey. He also worked for Hacettepe Teknokent for the development of a 2-person electric vehicle in a start-up company along with several projects with the support of KOSGEB, AKA and the Ministery. His entrepreneurship spirit took him back to Japan for a post-doctoral study and learning the way of venture business and how a healthy start-up/spin-out business runs along with intellectual property applications. He experienced many Japanese High Tech companies as an intern orengineer for several years. Now, He is a co-founder of an IT company working in the field of digital marketplace with the keyword of mobility supported by ITU ARI Teknokent in Istanbul.
