Tunneling and Underground Structures Graduate Program (without thesis) has been founded in 2007. The program offers education in Turkish with full-time faculty members. Students are expected to gain technical knowledge in the areas of tunneling and underground structures, subsurface site characterization, project management and control for tunnel construction, structural geology, applied rock mechanics for underground structures, and then prepare a technical report on an assigned project on a subject related with one of these areas. The Civil Engineering Department houses several laboratories that can be used by graduate students for educational purpose as well as part of their project work.
