For students admitted with a bachelor’s degree, the integrated doctoral program consists of at least fourteen (14) credit-bearing courses, a seminar course (KAM600), a doctoral qualification exam (KAM690), a dissertation proposal stage (KAM697), and the doctoral dissertation (KAM699). The total academic workload of the program must be at least 300 ECTS credits. Students must earn at least a CB letter grade in each course and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00. The seminar and dissertation courses are assessed on a pass/fail basis.
The duration of the integrated Ph.D. program, excluding any period spent in the scientific preparation stage, is a maximum of ten (10) semesters starting from the semester of initial enrollment. The maximum allowable time for program completion is fourteen (14) semesters.
The maximum time allowed for the successful completion of all credit courses is three (3) years. Students who fail to complete the required coursework within this period or who do not achieve the minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.00, as required by the University, will be dismissed from the program.
Students who have successfully completed their coursework, passed the qualifying examination, and had their dissertation proposal approved, but who fail to complete and defend their doctoral dissertation within fourteen (14) semesters, will also be dismissed from the program.
Students who were admitted to the doctoral program with a bachelor’s degree but fail at the dissertation stage, despite having fulfilled the required course load, term project, and other obligations, may be awarded a non-thesis master’s degree upon request.
Examinations, assessment, and grading are conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Atılım University Graduate School of Social Sciences Regulation on Graduate Education and Examination.
