Course Objectives This class aims to develop knowledge and abilities of students about international and national human rights law; help students understand the meaning of social, political, economiz, cultural and environmental changes for human rights law; develop abilities of students to observe, examine and analyse the emerging developments about human rights law and create solutions; develop students’ potential in creating innovative research about human rights law.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • • Gain a progressive perspective on human righst research.
  • • Generate unique fieldwork in human rights law through a sensitive approach to social changes,
  • • Develop a critical approach to human rights both by arguing and managing the changes.
  • • Gain ability to analyse transnational, regional and national law comperatively and multidisciplinary through rights-based approach.
Course Content The classification of human rights, global public law and the idea of human rights, the sources of human rights law, UN Charter and UN human rights treaties and the comitees, European-American and African human rights regimes, human rights protection mechanisms in Turkish Law, the right to individual application to ECHR and Turkish Constitutional Court, social movements and human rights, globalization and corporate responsibility, women?s rights.
