Course Objectives The aim of this course is to teach advanced statistical analysis methods required for designing and conducting research in health sciences and medicine; to enable students to develop skills in data management, regression models, control of confounding factors, and interaction analyses, and to apply and interpret these methods using statistical software (Syntax/SPSS).
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Plans and implements statistical data management processes used in health sciences research.
  • Selects and applies appropriate statistical analysis methods for a research question and interprets the results in accordance with scientific principles.
  • Analyzes relationships between variables using multivariate statistical models and evaluates potential confounding factors.
  • Effectively uses statistical software to conduct data analysis processes and reports the results of analyses.
  • Critically evaluates findings obtained from statistical analyses within the context of health sciences and medical research and uses them in scientific decision-making processes.
Course Content Introduction to Syntax software, compute and recode commands, data merge, bivariate regression, partial correlation, multiple linear regression, confounding factors, interaction, logistic regression analysis.
