Course Objectives **The aim of this course is to provide knowledge on preoperative and postoperative physiotherapy and rehabilitation interventions in patients undergoing thoracic surgery, the impact of postoperative pain management approaches on treatment programs, methods for improving quality of life and providing psychosocial support, and the organization of rehabilitation services.**
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Defines the clinical characteristics of preoperative and postoperative periods in patients undergoing thoracic surgery.
  • Distinguishes complication risks related to surgical techniques and identifies indications and contraindications for rehabilitation.
  • Plans and implements physiotherapy and rehabilitation interventions, as well as pain management methods, in accordance with clinical protocols in post-thoracic surgery patients.
  • Analyzes the impact of pain management on treatment outcomes, functional recovery, and quality of life.
  • Clinically interprets and plans patient-specific psychosocial support needs and the organization of rehabilitation services.
Course Content Physical therapy and rehabilitation applications in patients undergoing thorax surgery, pain control and the effect of pain on the treatment program, quality of life, psychosocial support, organization of rehabilitation services.
