Course Objectives The aim of this course is to teach the students basic Turkish expressions by exposing them completely to Turkish. Students will be able to express their daily needs, become accustomed to Turkish sounds, and be able to communicate with correct pronunciation. According to the European Language Portfolio, A1 level is completed.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Reading: • will be able to read and follow the instructions, • will develop their reading skills,
  • Speaking: • will be able to give personal information, • will be able to talk about their daily activities,
  • Listening: • will be able to find the main idea in the texts they listen to, • will be able to develop skills on the spelling and usage of Turkish through listening,
  • Writing: • will be able to complete dialogs and answer the related questions, • will be able to write short texts on various topics,
  • Use of Technology: • will be able to develop independent study skills working on the assignments using computer technology.
  • • Learn to build Turkish sentences, • Understand slowly spoken instructions • learn the Turkish alphabet, • Memorize frequently used asset and concept names, • Will be able to express daily needs, • Know the news modes, • Ask questions, • Will be able to introduce himself and his environment, • Simply describe the location, • Will be able to tell the time and phone number, • will be able to report the situation correctly if he / she has health problems.
Course Content The alphabet; giving and asking personal information, ordering food and drink, telling the time, talking about habits, talking about familiy, talking about clothes, etc.
