Course Objectives The aim of this course is to teach students the basic concepts and definitions of hydrotherapy and balneotherapy, indications and contraindications for hydrotherapy, hydrotherapy methods, balneotherapy methods, properties of thermal spring waters, and the duties of physiotherapy technicians in thermal spring treatment and application methods.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • By the end of this course, students will: - Learn hydrotherapy and balneotherapy treatments and their application methods. - Learn the indications and contraindications for hydrotherapy applications.
Course Content Definition of hydrotherapy, hydrotherapy applications, features of aquatherapy pools, aquatherapy-aquatic rehabilitation methods and equipment, spa medicine, treatment and definition, internal and external balneotherapy methods, mechanisms of action, sulphur waters-Radon waters, sulphated waters-bicarbonate waters, ferrous waters-iodized waters-fluorinated waters-trace element waters, peloids, bottled natural mineral waters and spring waters, sauna effects and application methods, herbal baths a
