Course Objectives
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Demonstrate professional responsibility for the prevention of nosocomial infections. Discuss the role of health professionals in the management and surveillance of hospital infections. Follow infection control programs. Define basic theories of nosocomial infections. Know the epidemiology of nosocomial infections in general. Have information about national and international infection control programs. At the end of this course, students will: - Recognize microorganisms and the criteria for achieving and maintaining sterilization.
Course Content Formation and symptoms of infection, types of microorganisms, diseases caused by fecal-oral transmission, diseases transmitted through the mucosa and skin, bloodborne diseases, airborne diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, hospital infections and infection control measures, hospital infection control committee, personal protection methods and hand hygiene, sterilization of medical waste.
