Course Objectives Bu dersin amacı implante edilebilir işitsel sistemlerin çalışma prensipleri, aday seçimi, uygulama ve uygulama sonrası süreçler ile ilgili temel bilgilerin kazandırılmasıdır.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Recognize auditory implants placed in the middle ear, inner ear and brainstem as an audiological treatment option.
  • Learns the types, parts and working principles of auditory implants.
  • Understand auditory plasticity and early intervention. Learn sound processing strategies.
  • Learn the differences between hearing aid amplification and sound processing of auditory implants.
  • Learn the responsibilities of the audiologist during implant programming and follow-ups, have knowledge about pre- and post-implant, patient evaluation, follow-up and counseling.
  • Have general knowledge about implant surgeries and audiologic tests applied in surgeries.
  • Knows the indications and contraindications of auditory implants.
Course Content Neural plasticity, the middle ear implants, bone anchored devices, cochlear implant, auditory brainstem implant, intraoperative monitoring, surgical techniques, sound processing, programming.
