Course Objectives Defining at wide scale and multi-dimensional handling of regional subjects in the urban context; program analysis and development; realization of spatial and conceptual thoughts within the scope of widest scale to the scale required in design technology, based on technologies of structure, construction and environmental control, and knowledge related to the environmental conditions and elements of the urban context.
Course Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Students who accomplish this course: - Can take design desicions at urbanscale; - Can make original interpretations for the given program; - Consolidate the skill of generating functional and structural solutions in keeping with the design concept; - Develop the skill to acquire knowledge about the legal framework and standards related with the architectural profession.
Course Content Analysis of the environment and the existing nearby built environment for an architectural project that provides scope for urban discourse and new technological potentials and multi-dimensional research; achievement and presentation in two and three dimensions of an architectural form with function, spatial organization and structure relations

1 Declaration of the subject of the project, handing in of information about the site and defining the limits for the model; general discussion about the site.
2 Discussion on the plot, environment, evaluation of the district and urban analysis (drawings, photographs, diagrams, graphics, etc.); urban decisions at 1/5000 and 1/2000 scales; discussion over 1/1000 urban design proposals, 1/500 functional zoning studies, principal sections, silhouettes and model.
