Course Objectives Realization of spatial design ideas related to subjects with low functional complexity for identified sub-groups, by utilizing knowledge acquired on climatic and topographic data, landscape design principles, structural and construction systems.

Course Content Study of the historic data, topography and morphological condition of a selected site for an architectural project with a simple function encompassing human, physical environment and social environment relations; individual development of an architectural design supported by studio work and criticisms. Pre-requisite: MMR 102 Basic Design II

1 Description of the course, contents and mode of running the course, design subject and information about the field of design. General information about the “site” of the design to be conducted. Issuing of the sources related to the subject of the design. Presentation of the designs produced in the previous semester.
2 Finalizing the selection of the site and the function: definition of the field and the function of the design by students. Presentation of the site analysis: Works done by student groups. Initial ideas about the site and determination of problems. Discussions about the design and the student’s identification of his/her principles for the design.
3 Submission of site model (1/2500) Individual 1/100 models of selected areas Design critique on model and drawings done to scale
